- One sunny day, a baby girl named Holly was born.

- Her parents loved her ever since she was born. They knew she was going to be an amazing daughter.

- When Holly got home, her hair was messy and her dress had dirt all over it!

- “What happened to your clothes? And your hair!” Holly’s mom asked.

- One day, Holly came home looking really sad.

- Holly’s mom went to her and asked “What’s wrong?”
- “I want short hair, all of the boys make fun of me when I want to play soccer.” Holly cried.

- Holly’s mom nodded and smiled. “We can go get it cut then.”

- After Holly’s haircut, she went to school feeling happy.

- Except when she got home, she was upset again.

- Now, Holly was off to first grade. For her first day, Holly’s mom put her hair in a bun with purple bows and gave her a pretty dress to wear.
- “What’s wrong now?” Holly’s dad asked.
- “Boys are making fun of me because I have boy hair.” Holly cried.

- Holly didn’t like the dress, and she didn’t like the bows. But Holly was sent to school anyway.
- Holly’s dad hugged her and said, “There is no such thing as boy or girl hair. You have short hair. It doesn’t make you any less you.”

- The next day at school, she went to play soccer with the rest of the boys. But when she saw them, they laughed at her.
- “Holly has boy hair!” they all said.

- “I was playing soccer outside,” Holly said.
- “It doesn’t matter if she has short hair! It doesn't make her any different” one boy said.
- Holly smiled. “Yeah, I am me, and just because I have short hair doesn’t make me any less me!”

- All the boys felt bad and said “Sorry Holly, let's make it up to you with a game!”

- Holly got older and she was an amazing soccer player. She never let anyone tell her who she was or who she had to be!
