- Hello! I'm Susan Neumann and I am a teacher! I've been a PE teacher for 13 years
- I can stand and crawl!
- I like running and am sensitive and kind
- I live in Oceanside, CA with my two sons (Jordan, 9 months and Henry, 3 years) and my English husband Paul
- I also have two cats (Malibu and Thor) and a dog (Jax)
- Usually you can find me here, or a field or gym teaching 7th & 9th grade students. Iexercising!
- I became a PE teacher because I loved sports and had great coaches growing up. I was a figure skater, ran track and field and played basketball. I used to coach sports too, now I'm busy with babies, teaching and school!
- I love sports and teaching PE, but my interest has turned to online education in my free time
- This is my 8th course with APUS and my goal is to earn a Master's in online education and teach online courses at the college level
- My hobbies include running with Jax, swimming laps, finding new and fun workout videos, arts & crafts, home renovation and design, gardening, going to to the beach and lagoon and spending time with my family. I also love traveling (but that's on hold now).
- My dream is to live in St. John (USVI) own a home there and teach online college courses with this view
- My strengths include balancing work, home and APUS life with time management and dedication. I've been good at getting work done for school during nap time as well as grading for work. I have finished 7 courses so far, amongst the chaos of a baby #2 and COVID virtual school changes! I also have figured out how to teach zoom PE classes pretty well now and my students find my classes engaging and entertaining
- My favorite technology is Storyboard that, Adobe Spark, Zimmertwins, Vyond, and anything Google based (forms, docs, Gmail, slides)
- I also love formative assessments! My students love playing Kahoots and I like visuals like hand signals or numbers with fingers
- My favorite assessments in PE include skills based live assessment, Google forms, project-based and student choice assessments like tic-tac-toe, menus or student interest options
- My least favorite assessments are ones that are repetitive and have no student choice!
