- Andrew Jackson decided to make a tariff to impel new business men to create their business now that Britain had a tariff on imported goods, he didn't foresee the conflict that would occur once he made the tariff.

- Andrew Jackson's plan to create a tariff on foreign goods helped new industries in the North, but in the South many people who got their income by trading found an extreme reduction in profit. While the North thrived the South was struggling. Many southerners felt like the tariff was targeted for the north and they felt that it divided the country
