  • الانزلاق: 1
  • So, after hearing about some opinions from other U.S. citizens, what is your opinion on the electoral college?
  • I don’t know! They made some many good points about the pros and cons. It makes me wonder, how can the U.S. claim to be a “democracy” if so many people feel their voice doesn’t matter?
  • الانزلاق: 2
  • That’s very true. No where in the Constitution does it say that the U.S. is a blatant “Democracy”, yet that is what we claim to be. A democracy, by definition, is a form of government that gives “power to the people”. The United States is generally referred to as a “Representative Democracy”, which means that the people vote for other people to make decisions on their behalf. While this generally is manageable, sometimes a person's representative does not match up with their own values and wants. The main criticism of representative democracy is that representatives are often wealthy and high in status. This can leave a gap between what the people really want, and what the representative does.
  • Interesting! Thank you for the information about the U.S. Democracy and our voting policies. Anyways, I’m on my way to go vote, and you should too!

  • Why don’t people like the electoral college, and others do?
  • Well, why don’t we find out from some other U.S. Citizens!
