- Dear Kat,How is your vacation so far? We are having the best time here in Texas. Right now we are in San Antonio and today we went to the Alamo! The Alamo was the site of a famous battle, where hundreds of Texans died while defending Texas' freedom from Mexico in 1836. It was built in 1718 as a Spanish missionary. The tour guide told us that about 2.5 million people visit the Alamo each year! It was so cool to see it up close. Well, I hope you are having so much fun at Disney World, and I can't wait to hear all about it when we come back. I miss you!Your BFF,Amy
