- EXPOSITION: Mr.White and Herbert were playing a game of chess waiting for Sergeant Major Morris to arrive while Mrs. White is sitting watching
- CONFLICT: Mr. White reaches it to the fireplace to find the paw after sergeant Major Morris is done talking about
- RISING ACTION: Mr. White grabs the paw aout of the fire and wishes for 200 pounds to pay off their house and then a while later a man tell them their son got caught in the machinery and gives the whites 200 pounds
- I wish for 200 pounds
- CLIMAX: When Mr. White finds the paw wishes and the knocking stopped
- Finally found itI wish.....
- FALLING ACTION: Mrs. White asks Mr. White to make the second wish so their son could come home then, they hear knocks on the door. Mrs. White tries to open the latch to let Herbert in and Mr. White

- I wish for Herbert to be home
- I'M COMING SON!!

- RESOLUTION: Mrs. White finally reaches the door and no one is there Mr. White suggests they leave and they do.
