- Many years ago, a wealthy man named Hugo Baskerville set hounds after the escaped woman he loved, whom he had kidnapped. Upon her escape, he made a deal with the devil as a last resort to reaching her and insuring her dead. A few hours later, however, both Hugo and the woman were found deceased on the moor where he had pursued her, bite marks evident on his throat,
