- Mr. White and his son, Herbert were playing chess in the living room while Mrs. White knitting. They were in the living room waiting for Sergeant-Major Morris
- Climax
- Sergeant - Major Morris shows up and talks about a magical monkeys paw then puts it in the fire but Mr.white grabs it and say if you don't want it then give it to me but sergeant Morris warned him that if anything happened don't blame him.
- Falling Action
- I wish my son alive again.
- Mr White takes the moneys and makes his first wish for 200 pounds. Even though Sergeant-Major Morris had warned them if anything happened to them don't blame him. Herbert doesn't believe in it.
- Resolution
- Herbert goes to work. A strange man appeared and told Mr. and Mrs. White that Herbert had died in a machine, and the company wished to pay them 200 pounds in consideration of Herbert's services.
- Mrs.White can't sleep and then asks Mr. White to wish that their son was alive again.
- There was a on the door in the middle of the night and Mrs. White thought it was Herbert, so she ran down but Mr. White thought he wouldn't be the same so he tried to stop Mrs. White and wished Herbert dead again.
