Now tell me, what are your symptoms??Patient: I have a fever, headache, and a skin rash.Doctor: Ok, what did you do in the past week??Patient: I went on a hiking trip and I brought my dog with me.Doctor: Ok
- *I will be consulting a patient that came to our clinic in the afternoon with many symptoms*
- Doctor: You might be diagnosed with Lyme disease based on your recent activity.Patient: Is it contagious ??Doctor: No, not really.Patient: Then how did I get it?Doctor: When you went on the hiking trip, you might have been bitten by a tick that carried the disease.Patient: Maybe that happened
- Patient: What is the incubation period for this disease?Doctor: The symptoms might last from 3-30 days.Patient: OkDoctor: If you ever go hiking again or any outdoor activity, walk in the center of trails so weeds dont brush against you.Patient: Ok, I will make sure to do that.
- Doctor: Lyme disease can be cured with a 2-4 week course of oral antibiotics.Patient: Ok.Doctor: Just in case, clean your house and check if your dog has any ticks in order to avoid an outbreak.Patient: Ok
- Doctor: Unfortunately, there isn't a vaccine for this disease, so just try the prevention ways because you can catch this disease more than once.Patient: Ok, thank you!
