- Zoe receives a letter from her birth father, Marcus, who is in jail. She soon realizes he's been sending her letters for a long time, trying to get to know her. Zoe wonders if this is true, and if so, why she hasn't received them.

- After Marcus tells her the name of his alibi, Zoe and Trevor track her down. They go to Harvard University, where she is a professor, to talk to her. Sarah doesn't remember Marcus right away, but eventually recalls meeting him at her tag sale many years ago.
