- This is the beginning of the story when Whitney and Rainsford talk about an island (pg.1)
- OFF THERE to the right---somewhere--is a large island its rather a mystery.
- ¨Rainsford remembered the shots. They came from the right, and dogged and swam in that direction.¨(pg.3)
- Rainsford made it to an island but hit his head
- ¨He flung himself down at the jungle edge and tumbled headlong into the deepest sleep of his life. He woke up he knew that by the position of the sun it was after noon.¨ (pg.3)
- ¨I have read your book about hunting snow leopards in Tibet, you see¨
- Rainsford finds a home in the middle of the island and meets a man named General Zaroff. (pg.5)

- This is the scene where the general and Rainsford have dinner together and he finds out generals game. (pg.8-9)
- ¨I wanted the ideal animal to hunt¨explained the general¨so i said what attributes of the ideal quarry?and the answer was of course it has to have courage, cunning,and,above all it must be able to reason
