- Head HeartTris develops feelings for an instructor of Dauntless. Four (Tobias) motivates her to be strong and continue fighting when she feels weak. They work together to defend themselves and overcome challenges. Tris gets a better understanding of him and the Dauntless faction.
- Left LegOne weakness of Tris would be her family. When she was in fear simulation, when she was forced to kill her family, she couldn't do it. Every other obstacle was easy to complete for her. She hesitated to fight when it came to her family.
- Left FootIn the beginning of the book, she belonged in the Abnegation faction. Tris thought she could never change her faction because of what her parents thought. Throughout her time in Dauntless, she kept her old faction in mind.
- Arms As Tris trains to become Dauntless, she keeps her secret that she is Divergent to herself. She tries hard to make it unknown and out of the obvious. But when she discovers that Four is also Divergent, she uses it as a benefit. When the initiates were impacted by the serum, she used her immunity as a weapon. Tris worked hard to save the factions.
- EyesWhat Tris experiences in the Dauntless training took time to get used to. She had to watch her friends get hurt intentionally, or get hurt for fun. During the final fight, Tris had to witness her parents being killed. Because of these events, she grew stronger and fought back.
