Hows the homework going Sarah?
Terrible! I don't understand any of it. We have to write about the types of energy.
Sarah is struggling with her homework. Her brother, Michael, walks in on her.
Michael decides help Sarah with her homework.
"There are seven types of energy. A good way to remember them is the acronym: Mrs Chen"
"The first type is mechanical energy. Mechanical energy is the motion of large matter, like car tires moving down the street."
"The second type is radiant energy. Radiant energy are bundles of protons like sunlight."
"There is also sound energy which is the ordered periodic motion of particles. Just like the sound from your headphones."
"Chemical energy is the arrangement of small particles, like a flashlight battery."
"Oh I know this one! Heat energy is the random motion of small particles!"
"And electrical energy is the movement of electrons like a current moving through a wire."
Thanks, what do non-renewable and renewable sources' mean?
"And last, but not least, there's nuclear energy which is the structure of an atoms nucleus."
"And don't forget the law of thermodynamics; energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transferred."
"Renewable sources are things like air and wood, non-renewable sources are coal and natural oils."
