- Della is thinking about selling the most the most precious thing for her true love

- She is on her way to the saloon
- Della is rethinking her design of cutting her hair
- She is happy that she got her hair done now that she can buy Jim a present
- Della is excited that she got Jim a good gift
- Della is on her way home from getting Jim his present
- She just got back from getting back from Jim Christmas
- Della thinks about how happy Jim would be once he sees what gift she gave him.

- But Della did not like the way how her hair made her look
- Della made her self look prettier for Jim
- Now since JIm came home to the shock of DElla's hair, Della is afraid that Jim will not like her anymore with the short hair.
- But Jim was only shocked because since she cut her hair Jim was able to get her the combs she had been wanting for a long time
