- My apartment building is pretty big. It has 20 floors starting from the 1st floor, where the lobby is. There are also 2 floors below ground level. That's where the parking garage is and the laundromat. The difference in these floors is 20 - (-2). That means the building has a total of 22 floors.
- Today, I walked -2(5)=10 from the 20th floor. Since I live on the 8th floor, my final location was 2 floors above my apartment. Ten floors below the 20th floor is 2 floors above me. My final location was +2 floors.
- Yesterday, it took me 15 minutes to walk down 100 feet. -100/15= -6.7 feet per minute. Today, it took me 12 minutes to walk down 84 feet. -84/12= -7 feet per minute. Since I walked more feet per minute today, I was faster today than yesterday.
