Care Work Part 2

(Thinking) I’m a Christian, so I should follow God’s rule that I should live a moral life. I need to follow my morals of being honest, true to myself, and do the right thing. I value dignity, but I also value friendship. If I choose to do this I won’t be living a moral life, but I will keep my value of friendship strong. My parents have told me not to take drugs as it can ruin my life and I could get into trouble with the police. I guess I should obey what they said. This is a hard decision.
“No thanks Kyle, I think my parents told me to go back home around about now. Thanks for the party. ““To be honest Jack, I don’t think you should hang out with us anymore. We just don’t think you’re good enough for us. Why don’t you go back home.”“I already am!”
(Thinking)If I had taken the drugs, I wouldn’t have been living a moral life, I wouldn’t have obeyed my parents, and I would not be following my values. Taking the drugs would have made me popular, but those friendships wouldn’t have lasted long anyway. I won’t judge Kyle for the choices he makes, but I won’t make the same choices. I believe that I made the right decision here as both a Christian and a member of my family. I’m proud of myself.
