  • The Wangarians sailed up the Niger River in canoes with bags of gold to trade.
  • The Northern Africans crossed the Sahara in caravans on camels to trade salt.
  • They meet up in Timbuktu, the center of the trade routes.
  • Since all traders don't speak the same language, we have a silent trade. One trader looks at what others have put on the podium, if they like it they place their own items on another podium and play the drum. If everyone agrees that it's a fair trade then the trade is over.
