- 1. Iago is shown as a personification of Jesus as he is a false prophet lying to Othello about Cassio's actions. False prophets are lavish as indicated in the bible and Iago has picked to sit in a throne room2. Iago is also shown to be betraying Othello as he sits in the throne on his left and holds the dagger, a weapon of betrayal, in his left hand again the hand of evil.3. Iago is sitting above Othello on a throne, but Othello is wearing purple the color of royalty symbolizing how Iago is in control of the power. Iago has green eyes because he is the green eyed monster of envy which he previously warned Othello about he also sits up on a green throne of jealousy showing how he wants to and is attempting to usurp OTtello's power.4. Othello holds a scimitar because it is a traditionally North African weapon and he declares he wants to chop his wife up with what can be inferred to be the scimitar. This has meaning as he suspects his wife hates him because of his North African heritage.5. Iago's tunic is red as well as the carpet showing the blood leading to him in the carpet and how the blood is truly spilt by Iago where the blood on Othello's purple tunic is just staining the blue that would be considered the color of truth.Iago also is wearing red the opposite of blue and therefore the color of lies
