species X lives in the woods, they have 4 long legs, and a long snout, awake during the day, and weigh from 90lbs-160lbs
Humans cut down trees in the environment destroying part of the forest were species x lives
the forest is now smaller causing some of species x to migrate to find more food outside of the forest
the part of the forest becomes a desert over time. it gets very hot during the day while having cooler nights. The only animals that live in the desert are smaller species x slowly starts to change and adapt to the new environment
Species X has now slipt up into two species, species X and species Y. they can no longer reproduce with the other species. the reason they can not reproduce with the other species is that the desert is so hot that species Y has learned to hunt at night time making them nocturnal and mating at night while species X still reproduces during the day. along with that species X will not go into the desert.
This new species, species Y is a nocturnal animal with a short snout so it can hunt the small animals in the desert better. it also has gotten shorter, in general, to be lower to the ground to catch the smaller animals better (40-90lbs). they will no longer reproduce as species x reproduces during the day while species y reproduces at night this is an example of temporal isolation and enviromental isolation as they live in different areas.
