- A red salamander is a bright colored animal!
- Today we will be going outside to collect natural materials to create a creature. You will have to describe how the coloring on the animal would help it survive. Does anyone have any questions before we head outside?
- Good question. Natural materials are things like sticks, leaves, pinecones, branches and rocks, Larry.
- What are natural materials teacher?
- I made a bird using a pinecone!
- Awesome job Ashley! Hide your bird in its appropriate habitat so we can find it! You'll have to tell us about how it uses its color to survive.
- I created a gopher. The gophers habitat is a hole. Gophers have brown fur that matches the color of soil in which they live.
