  • Good morning! Does anyone know how color makes it easier for animals to survive?

  • Animals can camouflage to not be eaten
  • A red salamander is a bright colored animal!
  • Today we will be going outside to collect natural materials to create a creature. You will have to describe how the coloring on the animal would help it survive. Does anyone have any questions before we head outside?
  • Good question. Natural materials are things like sticks, leaves, pinecones, branches and rocks, Larry.
  • What are natural materials teacher?
  • I made a bird using a pinecone!
  • Awesome job Ashley! Hide your bird in its appropriate habitat so we can find it! You'll have to tell us about how it uses its color to survive.
  •  I created a gopher. The gophers habitat is a hole. Gophers have brown fur that matches the color of soil in which they live.
