EXPOSITIONNic's parents got divorced when he was three, and they lived 500 miles apart. He spent the school year with his father and stepmother and holidays and summers with his mom and stepfather, and he often had to travel alone on the airplane. this causes anxiety for a child.
I hate that my parents live so far away from each other, and I can't see both of them all of the time. It's not fair to me.

RISING ACTIONNic's downward spiral began during a summer trip to Paris. Alcohol was easy to get so he was drinking all of the time and then when he got home and couldn't get it, he began smoking marijuana and then other drugs like meth.
"I had access to an abundance of easily accessible liquor and got used to going out to bars and clubs every night." When I got home and couldn't get alcohol because I was only 16, I tried meth and felt better than ever before in my life."
