- This story starts off with two young kids, who find love in each other. Both share similar interests, and have fun together, unfortunately not similar lifestyles. Barnum has a rough childhood, is treated badly, forced to do chores, and is overall poor. On the other hand Charity's family is rich, or wealthy. Although Charity's parents don't like Barnum, she does. After finally being free, both spend time in the beloved New York City.
- Climax Tightrope
- The continuation song, shows Barnum taking the initiative to make people come of their comfort zones. To embrace who they are. The people embraced themselves, and got every ticket sold, it shows that the start of Barnum's journey is just the beginning. The uniqueness of the people made it new, and people want new, not old.
- Falling ActionFrom Now On
- Barnum did the unthinkable, he left them for people who are "better". He's treating them, like how he was treated. When he was little, Barnum was treated really bad, and we can be showed, that he was the little angel. But now, when he treats these unique people horribly, he looks like the villain. This shows conflict because now people are shocked that Barnum would do such a thing.
- ResolutionThe Greatest show
- Charity is saying that they can be together again, but he has been lost. He doesn't care about his family, he just cares about the circus and the money. But now, he has lost his chance to be with her.
- Barnum finally sees the imparable pain he has caused. He finally looks at his errors, and releases them, he says tomorrow he'll promise a fair circs where everyone will be recognized, the Greatest Show. He finally feels remorse, and feels what he has done was lamentable.
- The movie ends with Barum, and the people who want to express their uniqueness, ending up performing, and doing great. Barum also passes on his circus to Phillip. It ends up with everyone performing while Philip kisses, Anne. The circus is definitely the most important symbol, that is recognized in this musical. The circus is the place, where you can show your unique self, the place where you can learn from your mistakes, the place where you can make mistakes. The circus represents your opportunity, you can make it bad, or good.
