- This is Jerusalem!!!!The capital of Israelite kingdom.

- This is Abdel and Noam children from Palestine and Israel, here today to share what they know about the conflict between these countries. Follow us as we travel back in time to show you these events..
- Why Jerusalem?

- In 1700 BC followers of God, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob settled in Canaan (present-day Israel), and parts of the west bank, the Gaza strip, Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan. During this time the 3 main religions began to grow: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. This holy land became known as the land of Israel, the promised land, and the Palestine region .
- As time went on, these different religious groups began to form their own ideas and beliefs, leading to their separation. In 1000 BC, King Saul established the Israelite monarchy, which united the kingdom of Israel and Judah. After King Saul passed the reign passed on to David, who named Jerusalem the capital of the kingdom.
- Let's Take a Minute - To explain some things
- Basically, both Israelis and Palestinians lived in parts of Israel, and west bank, the Gaza strip, Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan for over 2000 years.
- After King David established Jerusalem as the capital of the Israelite kingdom, this created a lot of tension. Jerusalem is a very holy site for Jews, Christians, and Muslims. Jerusalem is so special to these 3 religions because it was where Jesus (Gid's song and messenger) was born, preached, crucified, and resurrected. Jerusalem is a place for everyone to be happy and enjoy their religion but sadly owning this place changes that.

- Jerusalem is an amazing, holy place!
- There are many holy sites to see in Jerusalem.
- The Dome of Rock is important to Jews because that is where Prophet Muhammad ascended to Heaven.
- The Western Wall is important to Muslims because it is where Prophet Muhammad tied his wings
- That's all.. there are many other reasons there is conflict, but that is why they are arguing over land.
- And... Because Jerusalem is such a special place they always argued over who could be there.
