- City Building and Architecture
- Wow, that's disgusting.
- This city is beautiful! But we shall get rid of the bathroom, for I do not take baths!
- Geography and Navigation
- What way are we headed?
- Hold on, let me pull out my compass. We are going southwest.
- Medicine
- Will my father be okay?
- We gave him herbs but i'm not totally sure.
- Lots of huge cities developed in Muslim lands/areas. Thousands of workers built numerous buildings including schools, hospitals, mosques, etc. Baghdad was the biggest city in Muslim land. Also, mosques were important prayer buildings where many people prayed.
- Art and Music
- Muslim geographers studied plants and animals in many regions. They also studied different climate zones. Mostly, goegraphy was studied out of curiosity. Not always though. For example, Muslims created very accurate maps. Naviagtion was important as well. The Muslims perfected the compass and the astrolobe.
- Recreation
- Muslims established hospitals, and made seperate rooms for men and women. Also, these hospitals served as training places for up and coming doctors. Mnay doctors gave patients drugs, a diet, or excercise. They also gave remedies made from herbs, and other minerals. Surgery was seen as a last resort, and patients would recieve a drug to put them to sleep, and would perform by removing tumors, limbs, etc.
- Scholarship and Learning.
- Shut up. Nobody likes school.
- Muslims had many forms of art and music. They used geometric and floral design. This used only shapes and patterns in nature. Another popular form of art was calligarphy, which was beautiful handwriting. They used textiles, which was like medieval sewing. Lastly, their music was in persian, and used drums, flutes and other instruments.

- Recreation was popular for Muslims. Two popular games were chess and polo. Chess was invented in India. It was quickly popular at all social classes. Many enjoyed the intellectual challenge the game presented. Polo was a persian sport, The objective of the game is to strike the ball through a goal, using long wooden hammers.

- Alright, loser cleans up the horse poop.
- Scholarship and learing were important to the Islamic Culture. They often exchanged ideas with Europe and North Africa. Islamic libraries had as many as 400,000 volumes (books). They often researched and translated texts from Greece, Persia, and India. Muslims rulers built schools, colleges, libraries, etc.
