WHY ARE WE IN HELL THIS IS SO SCARY. ALSO I THOUGHT YOU SAID GOD IS PERFECT SO WHY DOES HELL EVEN EXIST IN THEORY?
Well I'm a Christian because it's a lot easier for me to believe that praying to a perfect superhuman deity is a guaranteed way to escape suffering rather than wondering the possibilities of what could be if I wasn't religous. I think that's why most religons exist because it's sure working on me!
People also like to use religon, since religon is really just boiled down to a system of beliefs that center around a superhuman deity, to explain why concepts like suffering exist, and how we can be truly happy
Look at that guy over there! He's explaining how people can achieve happiness through a set of rules!
And there are so many people obeying him! How do I become the ruler of all humankind?
