- Hi guys!! today we are going to talk about carbon. A very important component on the chemistryworld. Does any of youknow when was carbondiscovered
- Crude oil is composed of Hydrocarbons of different length. In a fractional distillation the the crude oil is heated and then cooled. It allows the chains to be separated because they have different boilling points. It is important because we only need thermal energy in order to create more valuable components this process allows the oil refining.
- Everything that we know about carbon was discovered in the ancient times. But there are other important things that I need you to know.
- Cracking is the process of which hydrocarbonmolecules are broken into smaller molecules. Cracking is the most important process for the production of gasoline and diesel fuel.
- Carbon cycle is the way carbon is recycled in the atmosphere. Cellular respiration releases CO2 into the environment and photosynthesis pulls CO2 out of the atmosphere. Then CO2 is absolved by plants and animals to make glucose in photosynthesis . The plants hold CO2 and when the animals like me feed on them they will absolve the CO2.

- Why is all this important Its because of the carbon cycle that we are able to extract fossil fuel millions of years later when is ready. Fossil fuels are finite because it takes millions of years to make and we are consuming on a higher demand and eventually we won't have any left.

- There are two types of cracking -Thermal which produces a high % of alkenes.-Catalytic which produces a high % of branched cyclic alkanes.
