- I was born in 1483 Eisleben, Germany. I was a German priest, part of the Augustinian order. I thought about how unfair it was that the church was selling indulgences for money. I read the bible and found the answer "Justification in faith alone".
- indulgences is where people would buy indulgences to forgive their sins. Pluralism is where Cardinals and bishops had more than one diocese.
- I started to rebel because of the church abuses. There is Nepotism, simony, absenteeism, indulgences, pluralism.
- Nepotism is where relations of priest or bishops etc get positions of the church. Simony is where people are buying church positions.Absenteeism where Cardinals and bishops who had more than one diocese could only live in one of them
- I wrote 95 arguments against the sales of indulgences. I sent these to roman Catholic bishops.
- In 1521 the pope (Leo X) excommunicated me from church and later that year I was declared a outlaw. I fled to a castle near Eisenach with the help of Frederick the duke of Saxony. When I got here I started to translate the new testament. into German and made copies thanks to the printing press.
- I also joined the Diet of worms during 1521. The emperor Charles V led the council.
- After I rebelled, in 1555 the peace of Augsburg started. Where princes could choose what religion they would support. These religions would differ from Lutheranism or Catholicism or Calvinist, Anglican, Bohemian and Moravian, Brethren, Anabaptist, Eastern orthodox or islamic.
- I died in February 18, 1546 in Eisleben. If I didn't start to rebel, the church would probably still have a lot of power in today's time.
