  • Gramatical rules 1. We use "some" with affirmative or positive sentences.Example: I left some soap for you in the kitchen!2. We use "any" with negative sentences and questions.Examples: -Did you leave any soap for us?-Do you have any respect for us.
  • Examples: I need to buy some bread Is there any pasta left?
  • some and any are used before nouns in plural and uncountable noun an we do it to talk about certain numbers or amount of something we don't know
  • Exceptions to the rules 1. We use "some" in a question when we are sure that the answer will be yes.Example: Can you pick up some coffee on your way home?2. Any can be used in positive sentences if the sentence includes negative feelings Example: He hardly has any hair left!
  • General rules 1. In is used when you are something, inside the borders of something, buildings, rooms or places, when the edges are not clear or obvious, groups of people, liquids or substances, 2. On is used to talk about surfaces (walls, table), roads, streets, rivers, waters, oceans and lakes, 3. At si used to talk about places, specific points in space, public places, shops and addresses.
  • Preposition on, in, at They helps us give information about the time and location of the sentences in English, different prepositions can be used in the same sentence
  • Example: Am I at the car? Am I in the car? Am I on the car?
  • ExceptionBy is used to mean that this is next to something or above the location of somethingExamples: 1. I'm waiting by the car.2. The live by the school
