The French revolution was an uprising in France in 1789 - 1799 where the people of France rose up against the monarchy. It resulted in the establishment of France as a republic.

Factors that lead to the revolution are the amounts of money the king was spending on unnecessary stuff, the wars with other countries, the tax burden on the third estate, and the rise in cost of bread.
The Storming of The Bastille
The Estates General was meeting of all three estates, the clergy, the nobility, and the lower class. They were there to propose solutions for France's financial problems. It ended when the Third Estate formed into a National Assembly, signaling the outbreak of the French Revolution.
