- I've been doing some research following Galileo's work and I think I've found something quite fascinating.
- Well, he wrote about the basic principal of relativity, which is basically how the motion of one thing is relative to the motion of another
- The astronomer? What did you find?
- Me too, I'm very fascinated by his work, I want to test a couple things out, care for a stroll?
- Sounds like he's done his fair share of reasearch, I trust his rationalism.
- Sure!
- Good idea! Let's gather some things and head over to the main yard.
- Speaking of relativity, I've been thinking about why all things aim for the ground when they're released, I mean, why not float???
- Hmm... maybe we should try the scientific method and closely observe an array of objects to see how they react when we drop them.
- Ok, now we have all our items so let's combine the scientific method and our inductive reasoning to figure out this mystery!
- Ok!
- Unless it's something we can't see.. as if the center of the earth is attracting all objects!
- Hmm, they all seem to fall straight down, though the pumpkin and apple are heavier and reach the ground a little faster than the egg
- They all just fall straight to the ground.. I wonder if there's something pulling them that way.. but that's impossible!
- Exactly! We need a name for this.. I'm going to write a book about this too.. I shall name it the Universal Law of gravitation.
- The forces of nature cause the apples to fall from this tree, and also keeps the moon in place!
- That's genius! That explains why we're standing here, planted to the earth and no matter how high we jump or leap, we're always pulled back down, like a magnet!
