Base - Any Substance that in water solution tastes bitter, changes the colors of Indicators red litmus paper to blue, reacts with acids to form salts, etc....
Acid - Any Substance that in water solution tastes sour, blue litmus paper to red, reacts with bases to form salts.... etc.
