A bear enters the cabin due to Lyddie's brother, Charlie, leaving the door open. This is an example of person vs. nature because the conflict occurring is the bear entering the cabin.
On Lyddie's first real day of work, there was so much debris from the machines, she started to struggle to breathe. This is an example of person vs. society because the owners of the factory don't care about the conditions the girls are working in.
