- After grieving Enkidus death, Gilgamesh is determined to find immortality no matter what it takes.
- How can I be silent, how can I rest, when Enkidu whom I love is dust, and I too shall die and be laid in the earth forever?
- Glide: 2
- Gilgamesh finds Utnapishtim and asks for any way to receive immortality. Utnapishtim tells Gilgamesh to just live his life to the fullest.
- Is there a way to cheat death?
- Fill your belly with good things; day and night, night and day, dance and be merry... cherish the little child that holds your hand... for death is the destiny of man.

- Gilgamesh insists he gets an opportunity to receive Immortality. utnapishtim agrees since he is 2/3 god. Utnapishtim asks Gilgamesh to simply stay awake for 7 days straight.
- There is no performance, Gilgamesh, there is no immortality. You are only human and death is your destiny. However if you seek to escape death, I will give you one opportunity. A test. Stay awake for 7 nights and I will grant you the secret of immortaility.
- I have seen the grief of the gods, how they weep over mankind. But I am not afraid of death. I wish to live forever. I want to find the secret of life. I want to achieve immortality!
