- A long time ago, Rebekah and Isaac had twin boys, Jacob and Esau. Esau was the eldest son. Jacob was born moments later grabbing his brother's heal. From the start, the boys were competitive with each other. Luckily, their parents had already chosen their favorites. Isaac favored his son Esau and Rebekah favored Jacob.
- Being the younger son, Jacob knew he wasn't going to get the birthright or the blessing from Isaac. His jealousy got the best of him and he deviseda plan.
- Surely I will give you my soup. I would do anything to save my brother. But in exchange, I want your birthright.
- I will give you anything, you can have my birthright! My birthright will not mean anything to a dead man.
- Oh Jacob I'm famished! I have been out in the fields hunting all day.Please give me some soup, I'm begging!I'm about to die, PLEASE!
- Dad, it's me, Esau. I am here to receive my blessing from you.
- Go kill and prepare a lamb for me Esau, then I will give you your blessing.
- Your father is going to give the blessing to Esau. You have to bring me a lamb to prepare before Esau arrives so that you receive the blessing instead.
- Tricking Esau into giving him the birthright was not enough for Jacob, his eyes were on the blessing as well. So again, his jealousy got the best of him and Rebekah and Jacob created their scheme against Isaac.
- It is obviously you Esau, you are hairy and smell like the outdoors. I will give you your blessing.
- In order for me to know its you Esau, I want to feel you.
- Dad, it's me, Esau. I have prepared the lamb for you like you asked.
