- Oh my gosh my water broke I think I am going into labor! I need to go to the hospital!
- I hope my brain/control center receives the afferent signal on its receptor so it can give birth quickly.
- I know you are in a lot of pain. We are in good shape as your effector has received the efferent signal on its receptor and it responded, causing the release of oxytocin. You are currently dilated to a 3, and you need to dilate to a 10 before we can start pushing.
- Your body is continuing to release higher and higher levels of oxytocin. You are at a 6 now!
- You are almost there! You have dilated to a 7 so we are now going to administer an epidural to help you with some pain.
- It is time! Your body has reached oxytocin levels! It is time tp push!
- You did it! Thanks to the positive feedback loop for childbirth, you reached peak oxytocin levels, allowing you to give birth to your baby boy. Since you now are no longer in labor, your brain will have received the afferent signal on its receptor prompting it to send an efferent signal to the effector (which it received on its receptor) to stop the release of oxytocin and bring you back to normal levels.
