- Well hurry up, I don't have all day. I need to go for my brunch meeting.
- I, uh... I needed to talk to you about something.
- The nought boy, you mean?
- Why in the world should I allow him into my home? He is a nought and you know that we should not allow them anywhere near us. Imagine if someone saw him entering out homes. I would be ashamed.
- Why didn't you inform me about Callum's visit when I was sick?
- Sephy, I am reminding you rioght now that you will havbe to stop meeting with Callum and if I catch you with him once again, I will forbid you from going to school. Sephy, I'm soing this for your own again, you will thank me later on.
- Mother, they are no different than us. We may be different on how we look but they are still humans.
- How can you say that at all? You don't care about me at all. If you did, you would spend time with me like how all mothers-daughters do. And I will hangout with whoever I like to, including Callum.
- I barged into my mother's vanity room. As I entered the room, she was busy reapplying her daily makeup and I just stared at her face. As much as we looked alike, she didn't feel like my mother. She couldn't even spare a minute with me, all she had to do was attend meetings after meetings. Those meetings that she attended weren't even real meetings, it was just her and her friends gossiping about the latest news.
- Sephy, listen to me carefully. Callum's family has done something that I will never forgive them of. I do not want you around that nought boy at all. He is from a shameful and disrespectful family.
- What has his family done that is so shameful and disrespectful? I don't understand why you hate him so much. His mother used to work for you. That much I remember.
- I asked her about Callum visiting and she replied with a disgusted look on her face. It was like she couldn't believe her daughter was hanging out with such people. I got quite agitated with that answer, I didn't care what others had to say about us.
- Jasmine, you cannot let Sephy know what happened with Meggie and I.
- Somehow this angered me, she pretended that she cared about me, but she actually didn't give single care in this world what her daughter's did. I replied with the confidence left in me.
- You think I want to tell her that you had an affair with a nought? Of course I would never inform her of such things.
- She replied with a hint of fury in her voice. I didn't remember much from when Callum's mum worked for my mum but I did remember that they used to be best friends. I happily left her vanity room, after she told me to leave. If she didn't want to talk about that, I would find it out myself. My mom's eyes were filled with so much anger and hate. I had never seen her look at someone like that.
- Spehy, get out of my room. You shall never speak of that lady's name ever again in this house.
- Later that night as I was returning back to my room, I heard my parents discussing something. I went closer to their rooms to listen to what they were saying. I wondered, Meggie was Callum's mum, what did she have to do with this?
- An affair? What were they talking about? My dad and Callum's mum. That was when it dawned upon me. MY DAD HAD AN AFFAIR WITH CALLUM'S MUM. This took me by shock. I couldn't listen to them anymore. I didn't care if they could hear me run to my room and slam my door. I knew my parents didn't show much love in front of us, but I didn't know that they cheated behind each other's backs. The real question is now, how was I supposed to tell this to Callum? This news will break him apart.
