"Ma'am. Its fine. Hop in. I'm just giving him a ride home. On the house." Coach Brody assures.
"Ma!" Ghost calls out.
Ghost’s mom struggles with trust issues.

"I tried to keep a stone face, which is hard to do when you’re desperately trying to explain yourself. ’About how my mother works in a cafeteria, and about my neighborhood, and all that. He always trying me, and he don’t even know me like that,” Ghost wrangles.
“Marshall leaned back in his seat. ‘So instead of telling a teacher, you jumped on him?’” Marshall questions.

“Yeah, just walk around the track. It’ll cool your body down slowly.” Coach shouts.
Ghost is getting tired of running and having to keep walking around to cool down.

“But I didn't want my body to cool down slowly. I wanted it to cool down immediately! So, yeah, at this point I had pretty much made up my mind that track was the dumbest sport ever. I mean you gotta move to warm up, and move to cool down?" Ghost churlishes.
