- The Argument
- ´´Walter, please leave me alone´´.
- It is time for Travis to get up for school. Ruth wants him to get up so he can quickly get into the bathroom. Many people share that bathroom and she soon will wake up her husband to do the same so he´s not late for work.
- Beneatha´s Decisions
- ´´ I just want to learn to play the guitar. Isthere anything wrong with that´´?
- ´´The horseback-riding club for which she bought thatfifty-five-dollar riding habit that´s been hanging in the closet ever since!´´
- ´´Why you got to flit so from one thingto another, baby´´?
- ´´How do you do, Mrs.Younger. Please forgive me for coming at such anoutrageous hour on a Saturday´´.
- Travis has asked his mom for fifty cents for school and Ruth tells him they don´t have the money. Walter walks in and ends up giving him the money that they did actually have.
- ´´Oh—Mama—this is Mr. Asagai´´.
- ´´Well, you are quite welcome. I just hope youunderstand that our house don’t always look like this´´.
- During this scene, Walter was trying to tell Ruth want he wanted the money in check to go towards. Ruth wouldn't listen to him because she didn't like his idea. Walter kept yelling at her saying that she should be a better wife and listen to her.

- ´´Because it is life, Mama´´!
- ´´A Son—how come you talk so much ’bout money´´?
- Ruth and Mama are giving Beneatha a hard time about what she wants to do. She has chosen many different hobbies in the past and hasn't stuck with one yet.
- Mama meets Beneatha´s friends she met that is from Nigeria. He bring her a gift and she loves it.
- Walter only want the money for himself and Mama tries to talk to him that there was more in life than just money.
