Adam Goodes was born in Wallaroo and he grew up in Adelaide
Adam Goodes and his two younger siblings were raised by his mother after she and her husband split in 1984.
His mother was an Aborginal Australian (part of the Stolen Generation).
Adam Goodes played soccer before he started to play AFL during school
At age 16, he joined the North Ballarat Rebels and two years later he was drafted by Sydney Swans. He made his debut in 1999 at age 19.
On 24th May 2013, during Indigenous round the Sydney Swans were versing Collingwood
During this game, a 13 yr old girl called him an ape. He pointed her out to security and she was ejected from the stadium
You're an ape!
Speaking about the incident at the time, he said that the girl's words had absolutely shocked him.

That act of racism was the start of many others for Adam Goodes. Every game he was confronted by boos and racist comments from the crown
After a game with the West Coast Eagles, Adam didn't want to go to training on Monday morning and decided he needed support from people that understood him...
So he visited his home country. He said that it felt amazing and he didn't want to go back but he knew deep down that he did want to go back.
