  • Germany invaded Poland to regain lost territory and to control the country to their east. Germany lost the territory as a result of the Treaty of Versailles, which placed sole blame for WWI on Germany. In addition to the lost territory and blame, Germany’s armed forces were limited to 100,000 with no airforce or U-boats (36 ships only). Repayment of $32 billion was also required after WWI. When Germany invaded Poland they unveiled their new battle tactic meant to overwhelm the enemy named “Blitzkrieg”.
  • Germany was preparing for the invasion of Britain so they first attacked the army defenses and towns on the southern coast. Then they soon figured out that Britain's Royal Air force was a formidable opponent. The Germans soon bombed airport runways and the British Radar. But soon Hitler was getting mad so he soon started bombing large cities including london.
  • The Allied forces of Britain,America,Canada,and France attacked German forces on the coast of Normandy,France.He first wave of the attack began with the paratroopers. There were men who jumped out of planes using parachutes. They jumped at night and landed behind enemy lines. Their job was to kill key targets and capture bridges for the main invasion forced on land,on the beach. Thousands of dummies were dropped to draw fire and confuse the enemy.
