- Conflict: Person vs. Person Sticky and Reynie become messengers and Mr. Curtain bring them to a machine called the Whisperer. Then Mr. Curtain tells them that he is using it to brain wash the world, the boys become very angry at him.

- I want to go on adventures and be independent but sometimes I need help. And I almost always have things in my bucket to help me when I am in trouble.
- Character traits : Independent, smart, clever, brave Kate wants to be independent but still needs help. She can also always think of things to do by using her resources that she brings with her in he bucket. Lastly Kate is brave she fell into the executives arms just to help Constance escape and get the boys.

- Theme: Family doesn't always mean blood All of the kids were orphans and felt alone at the begening of the book. Soon the group grew together and became good friends almost like family.
