Jude is walking home after getting fired from her job
Jude keeps seeing Stella everywhere she goes, “It’s stupid. I saw Stella. I mean, I thought it was her. Swear she looked just like her” (Bennett 234). Jude keeps seeing Stella everywhere and she gets fired for dropping the bottle because of it.
Jude tells Reese that she's been fired from her job at the diner.
Jude asks Kennedy about her mother, "That's my mother's name. Or was her name...Estelle Vignes but everyone calls her Stella"(Bennett 245). This conversation reveals a new obsession for Jde as she will try and get closer to Kennedy to try and get to Stella. She had all her suspicions confirmed at this moment.
