The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street Theme: Humans Are Their Own Enemy's
One major theme of The Monsters Are Due Street On Maple Street is that humans Are Their Own Enemy's. One example that supports this theme is when they all got mad at Mr.Goodman because his car started all by itself and his car was the only one's who turned on. Another example because it showed that the whole maple street went against him and accused him of being the alien just because his car started by it's self and no one else did. Another theme is when Charlie shoots Pete Van Horn on accident because it was dark and Pete Van Horn was walking towards them and they all got scared and Charlie shot him the whole maple street went running towards him to see who it was and when they seen it was Pete Van Horn they all got mad at Charlie but Charlie kept saying it was on accident. The whole Maple Street was suspicious of Mr.Goodman because someone said sometimes they see in standing on his porch in the middle of the night and Mr. Goodman told them it's because he had a condition that no matter how tired he was sometimes he couldn't sleep and they were suspicious of him.
