"No, chile, no," answered she. "When dey finds you is gone, dey won’t want de plague ob de chillern; but where is you going to hide? Dey knows ebery inch ob dis house."
Sally expresses concern about hiding. Chile reassures, asking for help with their clothes to avoid suspicion during the search.

Chile takes a final look at their children, overwhelmed with emotions before leaving.

(Chile kneels and prays over the chil-dren, then kisses them lightly and turns away.)
Chile prays for their children's well-being, re-flects on memories, kisses them, and turns away.
