Karl Marx & Carol Gilligan

Storyboard Tekst

  • What year is it??
  • Nice to meet you Mrs. Gilligan. Would you mind showing me around? I'm particularly interested in the current politics of your society.
  • Wow Karl Marx? It's 2020. My name is Carol Gilligan.
  • It's Dr. Gilligan actually and yes of course I can show you around.
  • America is currently a Republican run capitalist country Mr. Marx.
  • Yes I agree the class system is a way for the rich to get richer and the poor to stay poor. The patriarchy is well developed in our current state of affairs, though I am encouraging our citizens to slowly chip away at it.
  • Oh dear. After all that work I did to encourage the working class to resist the classist system and overthrow capitalism!
  • How exactly can can one "slowly chip away" at the capitalist system, Dr. Gilligan?
  • Well sir, I believe our future all starts with children. Rather than having a resistive movement to those already in power, we can raise our young girls and boys to become feminists and liberals. By encouraging our boys to develop strong healthy relationships, they'll therefore, become more understanding and supportive human beings, of those currently considered weak, either by class or gender. Rather than having an upheaval of our current system, I theorize that we can introduce a better way of life at a slower pace, with less violence and resistance.
  • You have great ideas Carol, but I do not think that they are in the best interest of the working class.
  • Revolution! The working class of America must overthrow the government. The working population will always be repressed by the rich people.
  • What's best for the working class?
  • We need to see some change. Women are naive. They are way too caring when making decisions, whereas men only think about justice.
  • Yes! Even the future needs so much change. The working class is naive as well. The rich use religion to influence the working class into believing that it is okay to suffer and go through pain.
  • Well, in 2020 it's less about working for religion, but more about working for tax payments.
  • Bye Marx!
  • So the wealthy people are still controlling the working class, but in a different way. I am not proud to see this future. My time machine is here, I shall go now. Goodbye!
