Paris asked Mr.Capulet to marry Juliet. Mr.Capulet expressed she is barely 14. He reassures him to wait 2 years for her. He says Paris has to “woo” her, so he could have a chance. He then proceeds to invite him to a party being thrown.
Sir Capulet, allow me to marry your daughter Juliet.#160;
The party is happening the same night Paris was invited. A servant is told to invite people from a list to go to the party. He is illiterate so he has a difficult time completing the task.

Romeo and Benvolio are arguing on weather he will be able to let go of his love. Romeo reads a list to Peter and realizes Rosaline’s name is on there. Romeo and Benvolio are debating on weather or not to crash the Capulet's party.

Benvolio convinces Romeo to go to compare all the beautiful women to Rosaline. Romeo goes to the party. He goes for the sole reason that she will be there.
