And then to make the South happy we will make a stronger law targeting fugitives from slavery. So now we will have something that benefits both of you.
To make the North happy we will add a state called California and it will be a free state, following this, the new states Utah and New Mexico will decide whether they want to be a free or slave state.
NOOOO!!! the North is about to get away with the whole country being free. We have got to stop this non-sense.

I don't like the Missouri Compromise so let's just abolish it and from now on the new states get to choose whether they are a free or slave state.
Let's create two new states called Kansas and Nebraska.
