This story takes place in a town called Braintree Massachusetts. It was Fall, the year 1824, and there were four candidates up for election: The honorableJohn Quincy Adams, the oppressive Andrew Jackson, the connivingWilliam H. Crawford, and the horrid Henry Clay. It was a long and hard fought battle and in the end there was only one victor.
However, before we get to that we must take a look into the life of out hero, John Quincy Adams. Adams was serving as the Secretary of State to President Monroe. Everything was going right, he was supposed to take the throne, as the next president. Then, all of a sudden the traditions he was used to were thrown out the window. He would no longer be the heir, elections would not be held with popular vote. So, Adams knew what he had to do ... he had to win the popular vote and become the president for the good of the entire country.
I have to win the presidency, Louisa, it is my rightful title and I cannot allow those evil, evil men to rule over this country.
I promise you, if I get elected president, no one will ever set your slaves free!
I don't care if Adams graduated from Harvard and became a lawyer, I'll still win.
Adams will lose, regardless of the fact that he served as the previous Secretary of State.
I only had one stroke like a year ago, if you elect me I promise it won't happen again.
Ignore my face! I'm not crazy! But, if I don't win I'm going to work for the winner. That way I'll win no matter what.
Do not forget, I helped end the war of 1812 with the Treaty of Ghent. I shall promise to make the central government so great no other country will be able to touch us. I wish for nothing but to unite our people.
Vote for me, and you'll have the best life ever!
