President Roosevelt played a large part in government reform during his term. he used the power of the presidency to bust large trusts and regulate big corporations like the railroads. He gave the interstate commerce commission the power to set rates and prevent discriminatory practices.

Bid corporate monopolies presented labor issues during President Roosevelt's time in office. wages and working conditions were often a large issue. He used the power of his office to mediate with workers and their employers often to aid in coming to a deal and get recognition for their labor unions.

in 1922 Prohibition was aimed at moral and social reform by reducing the amount of alcohol consumed by people in the United States. unfortunately, it caused more issued like organized crime and political corruption. It also did almost nothing to reduce the consumption of alcohol. It was ultimately appealed by the 21st amendment in 1933 proposed by the 72nd congress. the 21st amendment is unique for being the only amendment to repeal another.
