- Iago advises Roderigo, who is in love with Desdemona to ruin Othello's marriage with Desdemona
- This will ruin Othello's night with Desdemona.
- Wake up Brabantio! Someone has stolen your daughter! You must wake up now!!

- I told you to never come back here! Desdemona will never marry you, Roderigo!
- HOW COULD SHE LEAVE ME!? MY DAUGHTER HAS BEEN STOLEN FROM ME BY MAGIC CHARMS!
- You and your men, follow me to Othello!
- What he says is true! You've been robbed sir, Othello and your daughter are making the beast with two backs!
- Perfect. This will bring Othello nothing but trouble
- Brabantio believes Roderigo's words are an attempt to get with Desdemona until Iago speaks

- I believe Othello. His story is honest, and Desdemona speaks freely. He is more fair than black
- My duty is to you father, but I love Othello and I choose him as my husband!

- Come, Lieutenant! You deserve to celebrate, please take a drink!

- Cassio
- Iago pressures Cassio into drinking. He pretends to celebrate Othello and Desdemona’s arrival in Cyprus. Cassio is unaware that Iago’s real goal is to get him drunk enough to ruin his reputation.
- What is this uproar? Cassio- how could you cause such a disorder?
- *Drunk* Draw your sword if you dare!
- Othello storms into the scene, furious that his soldiers are fighting during a time of war. Cassio cannot remember what happened and is humiliated. Othello decides he must punish Cassio to restore order and fires him from his position as lieutenant which is exactly as Iago planned
